I will never forget Ida, she made such big impact on me, even in the short 15 months or so I knew her. I connected with her on so many levels and she supported and inspired so many of us on this BC journey.
I have so many fond memories of the times we spent together with the iThrive group she formed, whether it was walking, stretching, meditating, trying new things such as breathwork and aerial yoga, sharing our love of books, or discussing nutrition or exercise.
She was so positive, curious, energetic, grateful, open and genuine, humble and so so caring. She showed so much courage and belief in her fight, right to the end, she gave it everything and more.
I remember her sharing the book ikigai about living in alignment and with purpose. Ikigai is Japanese for Alive (‘iki’) and Worth,(‘gai’) together it means knowing your reason for being, knowing what gives your life value, meaning, or purpose. Ida definitely had her ikigai and she inspired us to find ours.
So now whenever I visit Manly, grab a coffee at Coopers or walk down to the park the group use to meet at, I will look out at the water and I will remember Ida and her energy, bravery and love for life and remind myself to make the most of each day. I will miss her dearly and know in my heart she has found peace. X
